After a degree and PhD in Materials Science and Metallurgy at Cambridge University Laura worked in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industry for 20 years in a variety of technical, manufacturing and regulatory roles. From 2009 until 2022 Dr Laura Cohen was Chief Executive of the British Ceramic Confederation, the trade association for the UK ceramic manufacturing industry. She has been a Royal Academy of Engineering visiting Professor at Manchester University Department of Materials and the Henry Royce Institute since 2020. She was awarded an MBE in 2015 in recognition of her services to the ceramics industry.
