The 15th Pulp and Paper Fundamental Research Symposium, 8-13 September 2013

Plans are already in place for the 15th Fundamental research Symposium. The FRC has already made a booking at Robinson College, Cambridge for 8-13 September, 2013, the venue for 2 previous, successful symposia. The college provides an excellent environment for meetings with state of the art presentation facilities, comfortable delegate rooms, bar and dining room and, of course, excellent food.

The FRC considers it a priority that delegates should stay in the college, allowing the most traditional form of academic discussion around its quadrangles, in the bar and at the dining table. We also ensure that we offer a deal which is affordable to all scientists (from students to professors and senior managers in industry) who might consider coming. We are confident that we can deliver this once again in 2013. We'll also repeat the "Fundamental Research Communications" poster session trialled at the 14th Symposium and driven so efficiently by the Programme Secretary, Bill Sampson. The concept of very short, very tightly chaired presentations followed by discussion around posters fuelled by light refreshments was not completely novel but worked exceptionally well for us and above all succeeded in broadening the range of contributors without threatening our tightly refereed traditional structure or the prestige of an acceptance to the main proceedings.

The proceedings of all previous FRC Symposia are on fully searchable CDs. Ordering information is available on the FRC homepage: www.ppfrs.org
